Wrapping, or more precisely stretching a loaded pallet with foil is one of the most common and fastest methods of stabilization. Pallets can be stabilized with pre-stretched film, as well as non-stretched film.

Most of the loading on the pallet is done by machine, whereby, depending on the machine, the foil is stretched beforehand.

It is important to note that the more irregular and heavier the load, the thicker the foil must be and the load must be covered with more layers. In such cases, a strong, yet very thin, transparent stretch film is required. Since it is reinforced with horizontal fibers, the foil pallet remains firm during loading and its tearing is prevented.

Advantages of stretch film

In addition to benefits such as ease of use and less waste, an important advantage is that this fiber material can save up to 50% in product packaging. Savings are achieved when securing the goods, because using foil requires less material to secure the product, which means less work. This reduces costs per pallet, and stability is improved due to additional fiber reinforcement.

When products are combined with stretch film, the costs of packing individual packages are greatly reduced. Individual packaging takes more time than wrapping a single load. This saves the number of working hours, as well as the time needed to ship pallets of products. Since the goods packed in this way are loaded faster, the transport vehicles spend less time waiting for departure, and the transport of the goods from the warehouse to the designated place for unloading is significantly accelerated.

Additional protection provided by stretch film

Enclosing the product in stretch film greatly reduces the risk of theft. The loss of packaged goods is much easier to track if they are shipped in unique packages rather than individually. In this way, the probability of certain items being lost or stolen is reduced. Also, it is possible to minimize damage to the product if it occurs, because wrapped goods moved by a forklift or pallet jack will damage the goods less than if they are transported manually in loose boxes.
